Rabia’s Chocolate Chip Bar Cookies
Notes
- Recipe yields 1,500 g of cookie dough.
- 7” skillet: 500 g dough, 20 minutes at 350 °F.
Ingredients
- 2 ¼ cup (270 g) flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 cup (240 g) butter at room temperature
- 1 cup (200 g) white sugar
- 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 12 oz (340 g) chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 1 cup chopped walnuts/pecans/peanuts (optional, replace with chocolate if skipping nuts)
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 °F. Lightly grease a 9” x 13” pan.
- Combine dry ingredients in a bowl to mix.
- Cream butter, sugars, vanilla together.
- Add the eggs, one at a time and beat well.
- Beat in flour mixture until well combined.
- Stir in nuts and chocolate.
- Spread batter (it will be thick) into pan.
- Bake for 17-20 minutes, or until the top is lightly browned.
- Cool in pan and cut into squares.
