Mashed Potatoes

Enough for 5 people at Thanksgiving.
Ingredients
- 3 pounds mixed potatoes, such as russets & Yukon Golds
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
- 1/2 cup (120 mL) milk
- 1/2 cup (120 g) sour cream
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Nutmeg, to taste
- Garlic powder, to taste
Steps
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook until tender but still firm, about 15 minutes; drain.
- Add butter and stir to incorporate. Slowly add milk and sour cream.
- Season with salt, pepper, nutmeg, and garlic powder.
